Sony Ericsson Z610i LCD screen
Tools required for disassembly: Torx 6 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar
plectrum or credit card.
Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Four screws
need to be removed. The two at the top are covered by rubber stoppers
which can be levered out with something like a small pair of scissors or
tweezers.

Run something like a credit card around the join of the battery
compartment to release it from the rest of the phone.

With the battery compartment removed your phone should look like
below. A ribbon connector (circled) needs to be disconnected. It
attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever this up to unplug. Next,
pull the silver part at the top of the phone, in
the direction shown by the arrows below.

Your phone should now look like below. Another ribbon connector needs to be
detached (circled). Again, this attaches like a plug and socket. Just
lever it up to unplug.

Once you have disconnected the ribbon in the previous stage,
lift the black part that it's connected to away from the phone, as shown
in the image below.
Now pull the housing in the direction shown by the arrows in order to release the circuit board.

With the circuit board removed your phone should look like below.
Note that the plastic volume button on the side of the phone may come
away with the circuit board.

Open the flip and pull the top and bottom parts of the phone away
from each other. The parts will separate with little force.

Turn the top half of the phone over. Starting it the point circled
below, peel the sticker off.

Also remove the sticker at the top of
the screen.

Now remove the four screws you have access to, circled below.

Run your plastic tool all the way around the
join of the housing to release it.

The top half of the cover should now be loose, as shown below.

You should also be able to lift the screen assembly away from the other
half of the cover. Your phone should then look like below.

Turn the phone over and detach the two circled ribbons. Again, they
attach like a plug and socket. Just lever each one up to unplug.

Lever the little black square part off, as shown below. The circled
ribbon connector needs to be disconnected. Just flick the black latch up
and pull the small screen away from the phone.

The large black plastic part should now be loose and can be removed, as
shown below. The circled ribbon connector needs to be disconnected.
Again, just flick the black latch up and pull the ribbon away from its
socket.

Now turn the phone over and lever the screen out of the metal casing. It
should come out easily. You now have both LCD screens removed. Reverse
the whole procedure for reassembly. If you've found this disassembly guide useful, please support formymobile.co.uk and order the tools and parts you need from our site. We ship worldwide!
