Tools required for disassembly: Torx 5 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar
plectrum or credit card.
Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Three screws
need to be removed, circled below in red.

Now turn the phone over and look at the left side of the keypad.
You'll see a small gap at the side which will allow you to slide
something like the blade of a small pair of scissors or a paperclip
under to lift the keypad up. You can then peel it away from the phone
(it's held in place with double sided tape).

With the keypad removed the phone should look like below. Remove the
two screws you can see.

Now run something like the edge of a credit card all the way around
the join of the battery compartment. This will release the clips holding
it in place.

With the battery compartment removed your phone should look like
below.

Lift the circuit board away from the phone's housing and you'll see
it's still connected by a ribbon cable. Have a look at the next stage of
the guide to see how to disconnect the ribbon.

Below is a close up of the ribbon connector. To release the ribbon
pull the brown latch in the direction indicated by the arrows. Then
simply pull the ribbon away from the socket.

With the ribbon disconnected the circuit board can be removed, as shown
below.

Now turn the phone over and slide something like a credit card under the
lens to release it. It's held in place with double sided tape.

With the lens removed your phone should look like below. Remove the four
screws you can see.

Run something like the edge of a credit card all the way around the
join of the front cover to release it.

The front cover should now be removed, as shown below. Remove the screw
you can see, circled below.

Now lift the keypad circuit board up and you'll see two ribbons. The one
circled below is connected to the LCD screen. To release the ribbon pull
the brown latch towards you (it's on a hinge) then simply pull the
ribbon away from the socket.

Now lever the metal frame out a little, as shown below. Now push the
slide up and the two parts should separate

With the screen assembly separated from the slide your phone should look
like below. Now push the LCD frame in the direction shown by the arrows.

You should now have the LCD frame removed.

Turn the frame over and push the metal clip in. This will release the
LCD screen.

You should now have the LCD screen removed. If you are only removing the
LCD screen you do not need to go any further and you can reverse
the whole procedure for reassembly.

To separate the flex ribbon cable and circuit board for the keypad,
first slide the ribbon through the frame.

Now release the ribbon by opening the circled connector in exactly the
same way you did with other connectors.

Disassembly is now complete. Reverse
the whole procedure for reassembly. If you've found this disassembly guide useful, please support formymobile.co.uk and order the tools and parts you need from our site. We ship worldwide!
