Tools required for disassembly: Phillips screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar
plectrum or credit card.
First remove the back cover, battery sim and memory card. Four
screws, circled below, need to be removed next.

Next open the slide and lift the front of the phone to one side.
You'll see a ribbon connecting the top and bottom half of the phone
together. The ribbon cable needs to be disconnected. Go to the next
stage for information on this.

Below is a close up of the ribbon connector. This is called a zif
connector. The brown part is a latch which opens and closes on a hinge.
Carefully pull the ribbon towards you (away from the ribbon) then pull
the ribbon out. It will come away with little or no force.

The phone should now be in two parts, as shown below. Remove the two
circled screws.

Now slide your plastic tool under the white part and then peel it
away from the phone. The white part has a sticky backing and it may help
removal if you heat it with a hair dryer first.

Your phone should now look like below. Remove the two screws you can
see.

Now push your plastic tool around the join of the front cover. Start
near the top and work your way around. The bottom of the front cover is
held in place with clips so once the cover is loose simply push it in
the direction shown by the arrow.

Your phone should now look like below. The earpiece is circled. If you
want to remove the earpiece it simply levers out of the recess in the
back of the front cover.

Turn the white part over and you'll be able to see the LCD screen, as
shown below. Two white clips hold the keypad membrane in place so
release these and then flip the keypad membrane over (see the next
stage).

With the keypad membrane free you can flip it up to reveal two more
ribbons. First remove the piece of black sticky tape, circled below.

Circled below is the ribbon from the LCD screen. Again, is a zif
connector. The black part is a latch which opens and closes on a hinge.
Carefully flick the latch away from the ribbon (it's shown in the open
position below) and the ribbon will then be free. If you want to remove
the main flex ribbon then do the same for the ribbon on the left of the
photo.

The LCD screen can now simply be lifted away from the rest of the phone,
as shown below. If you only want to replace the LCD screen, you don't
need to follow the guide any further. Reverse the whole procedure for
reassembly. If you've found this disassembly guide useful, please support formymobile.co.uk and order the tools and parts you need from our site. We ship worldwide!

If you disconnected the flex ribbon cable your phone will now look like
below.

The next stages show the disassembly of the bottom half of the phone.
Remove the screws circled below. Then slide your plastic tool under the
keypad in order to release it.

Your phone should now look like below. Remove the two screws circled
below.

You can now lift the circuit board away, as shown below. To remove the
ringer, lever it out from the point indicated by the arrow.

Three more ribbon connectors need to be disconnected, circled below.
This type of connector is called a zif connector. The black part is a
latch which opens and closes on a hinge. Carefully lift the latch up and
then pull the black part at the bottom of the phone away from the
circuit board.

Disassembly is now complete. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly. If you've found this disassembly guide useful, please support formymobile.co.uk and order the tools and parts you need from our site. We ship worldwide!
