Tools required for disassembly: Phillips screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar
plectrum or credit card.
Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Six screws
need to be removed, circled below.

Next run something like a credit card around the join of the battery
compartment to release it from the rest of the phone.

With the battery compartment removed your phone should look like
below.

Circled below is the ribbon from the camera which has a zif
connector. The orange/pink part is a latch which opens and closes on a
hinge. Carefully flick the latch away from the ribbon (it's shown in the
open position below) and the ribbon will then be free. You can then
simply lift the camera away from the circuit board. The ringer,
indicated below by the arrow, needs to be lifted up but remain connected
to the circuit board by the red and blue wires. Lever the ringer up with
your screwdriver from the point indicated by the arrow. It's held in
place with double sided tape so a little force is required.

Below you can see the camera removed and the ringer free.

Now lift the circuit board from right to left, as shown below. Two
ribbon connectors (circled) need to be disconnected. Each attaches like
a plug and socket. Just lever them up, away from the circuit board, to
unplug.

With the circuit board removed your phone should look like below. To
disconnect the earpiece and headphone jack socket, disconnect the
circled ribbon then pry the part away from the circuit board. Again this
attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it up to unplug.

The earpiece and headphone jack socket are now free.

Two more ribbons need to be disconnected. Again, these are zif
connectors which open and close on a hinge. Carefully flick the latch
away from the ribbons and they will be free.

The two ribbons are now free.

Run something like the edge of a credit card all the way around the
join of the front cover in order to release it.

Your phone should now look like below. To remove the LCD screen, use a
hot air gun or hair dryer to apply some heat around the edge of the
screen. Then slide your plastic tool under the very edge of the LCD
screen and carefully lever it away from the front cover.

You should now have the LCD screen removed. Reverse the whole procedure for
reassembly. If you've found this disassembly guide useful, please support formymobile.co.uk and order the tools and parts you need from our site. We ship worldwide!
