Tools required for disassembly: Phillips screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar
plectrum or credit card.
First remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Next
remove the nine screws you can see, circled below. The screw circled in
white is different to the others, so make sure it goes back in the right
place.

Now pull the bottom cover towards you, in the direction shown by the
arrows.

With the bottom cover removed, your phone should look like
below. Now remove the
screw, circled below.

Now run something, like the edge of a credit card, around the join
of the battery compartment in order to remove this part. Avoid the
buttons and ports as you move your tool around the cover.

With the battery compartment removed, your phone should look like below.
On the left and top of the phone are the volume switches and power
switches, indicated by the arrows. These are permanently connected to
the circuit board but are stuck to the side of the housing with double
sided tape. Carefully peel them away from the side of the housing,
leaving them connected to the circuit board. Also circled below are a
number of ribbon cables. Each of these attaches like a plug and socket,
so just lever each one up, away from the circuit board, to unplug.

Below you can see the coaxial cable, now loose, and the disconnected
ribbon cables. The memory card reader/SIM reader, indicated by the arrow
below, now needs to be removed. To do so, apply some heat using a hot
air gun or hair dryer for around 60 seconds to soften the adhesive tape
holding this part in place. Then slide your plastic tool under the part
and it will come free.

With the memory card reader/SIM reader removed, your phone should
look like below. You now have access to two more ribbon cables. Again,
these attach like a plug and socket, so just lever each one up, away
from the circuit board, to unplug. You can now lift the circuit board
free.

Your phone should now look like below.

Now run your plastic tool around the join of the front cover in order to
separate it from the phone's chassis.

The chassis and front cover are shown separated in the image below. If
you wish to remove the two cameras, simply lever from the point
indicated by the arrow. The headphone jack socket can be removed by
disconnecting the circled ribbon. Again, this attaches like a plug and
socket, so lever up to unplug.

The cameras and headphone jack socket have now been removed.

The earpiece, front facing camera and long ribbon cable can be
carefully peeled away from the chassis and are shown below, having been
removed.

Below you can see the back of the LCD screen. To remove the LCD
screen, first apply some heat using a hot air gun or hair dryer then
carefully lift from the points indicated by the arrows. If the screen is
well held, apply more heat and try not to force the screen.

With the LCD screen removed, your phone should look
like below. Disassembly is now complete. Reverse the whole procedure for
reassembly. If you've found this disassembly guide useful, please support formymobile.co.uk and order the tools and parts you need from our site. We ship worldwide!
