Tools required for disassembly: Torx 4 screwdriver,
Phillips screwdriver,
sim removal tool or paperclip, plastic tool such as a guitar
plectrum or credit card.
First remove your sim card by pushing a sim removal tool or
paperclip into the hole circled below. The sim card holder will then pop
up.

With the sim card holder removed your phone should look
like below. Now lift the small black sticker indicated by the arrow
below. Your sim removal tool is good for this.
![Nokia Lumia 900 disassembly stage 2]()
Below you can see the small black sticker, stuck to the sim removal
tool.

You now need to remove the locking pin, which locks the screen into
the phone's housing. Push the small end of your sim removal tool into
the recess, as shown below, then push down at the other end to lift the
locking pin up.
![Nokia Lumia 900 disassembly stage 4]()
The locking pin can now be pulled out.
![Nokia Lumia 900 disassembly stage 5]()
The locking pin has now been removed.
![Nokia Lumia 900 disassembly stage 6]()
Now push one of your screwdrivers into the recess, as shown below,
and lever the screen. You should hear a click and the screen will be
raised slightly at the top right corner.
![Nokia Lumia 900 disassembly stage 7]()
Now run a plastic tool, such as the edge of a credit card, along the
right side of the screen to release the clips holding it in place.
![Nokia Lumia 900 disassembly stage 8]()
Now flip the screen over, being careful not to damage the ribbon cables
which still connect it to the circuit board. Remove the rubber part (USB
sealing plug) indicated by the arrow. It simply lifts free. Next remove
the seven torx head screws, circled in red, followed by the Phillips
head screws, circled below in white.
![Nokia Lumia 900 disassembly stage 9]()
Take note of the ribbon cable, circled below in red, which is covered by
the metal plate. It has a plug and socket type connection and can be
levered away from the circuit board when you remove the metal plate. Be
careful not to damage the cable. Remove the metal plate by levering it
up from the points indicated by the arrows below. When you lift the
plate free make sure the battery comes away with it. If you feel some
resistance then the battery is probably stuck down on the other side. In
this case, use a hot air gun or hair dryer to soften the adhesive
holding the battery to the phone and it will eventually become free.
![Nokia Lumia 900 disassembly stage 10]()
Below you can see the metal plate with the battery stuck to it on the
other side. The connector, circled in white, is the one mentioned in the
previous stage of the guide. Make sure it's plugged back into the
circuit board when you put your phone back together. Now disconnect the
two circled ribbon cables. Again these have a plug and socket type
connection so can be levered away from the circuit board. The screen
will now be free and can be lifted away from the rest of the phone.
![Nokia Lumia 900 disassembly stage 11]()
With the screen removed, your phone should look like below. To remove
the circuit board push back the two circled clips and lift the circuit
board up from the same side.
![Nokia Lumia 900 disassembly stage 12]()
To remove the battery from the metal plate, apply some heat with a hot
air gun or hair dryer to soften the adhesive tape holding it in place. Below you can see the battery, having been
removed. You can also see the strip of black adhesive tape which
holds it to the metal plate.
![Nokia Lumia 900 disassembly stage 13]()
The front facing camera, circled below, has a plug and socket type
connection so can be levered away from the circuit board. It will also
be held in place with a little double sided tape.
![Nokia Lumia 900 disassembly stage 14]()
The front facing camera has now been removed. Disassembly is now complete. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly. If you've found this disassembly guide useful, please support formymobile.co.uk and order the tools and parts you need from our site. We ship worldwide!
