Tools required for disassembly: Phillips screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar
plectrum or credit card.
First remove your battery, sim card and memory card. Then remove the
eleven screws you can see, circled below.

Now run something thin and flat, like the edge of a credit card, all
the way around the join of the battery compartment in order to release
it from the rest of the phone.

With the battery compartment removed, your phone should look like
below. A number of ribbon cables, circled below, need to be
disconnected. Each of these ribbon cables has a plug and socket type connection so can be levered
up, away from the circuit board. The connectors circled in purple are
slightly different to those circled in red, but the basic "plug and
socket" idea is the same.

With the ribbon cables disconnected in the previous stage, your phone should look like below.
Next disconnect the two ribbon cables circled below. Again, each has a
plug and socket type connection, so lever them up, away from the circuit
board.

You can now lift the circuit board away from the rest of the phone,
but when doing so make sure the power switch, indicated by the arrow
below, comes away with the circuit board. It may be stuck down lightly
with adhesive tape, so carefully lift it away.

With the circuit board removed, your phone will look like below. The
volume rocker switch will also be loose and can be simply lifted free.
Now peel back the ribbon cable indicated by the arrow below. It's held
down lightly with adhesive tape.

Now run something thin and flat, like the edge of an old credit
card, around the join of the front cover in order to remove it.

The front cover/touch screen and LCD screen are now free from the frame.
The camera, indicated top left, earpiece/jack socket/proximity
sensor/volume switch, indicated top right and the ribbon cable for the
keypad and micro USB socket, indicated bottom left, are held in place
lightly with adhesive tape and can be carefully peeled away from the
frame if required.

The camera, earpiece/jack socket/proximity sensor/volume switch and the
ribbon cable for the keypad and micro USB socket have now been removed.

To separate the LCD screen and touch screen, first use a hot air gun or
hair dryer to heat the screen around its edge for around 30 seconds.
This will soften the adhesive tape which holds the LCD screen in place
and allow you to pull the screen away (carefully pull the ribbon cable
towards you).

The LCD screen and touch screen have now been separated. The home button
will also be loose. Disassembly is now complete. Reverse the whole
procedure for reassembly. If you've found this disassembly guide useful, please support formymobile.co.uk and order the tools and parts you need from our site. We ship worldwide!
