Tools required for disassembly: Phillips screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar
plectrum or credit card.
First remove your battery, sim card and memory card. Then remove the
six screws you can see, circled below.

Now run something thin and flat, like the edge of a credit card, all
the way around the join of the battery compartment in order to release
it from the rest of the phone.

With the battery compartment removed, your phone should look like
below. Two ribbon cables, circled below, need to be disconnected. Both
ribbon cables have a plug and socket type connection so can be levered
up, away from the circuit board. The circuit board will now be free and
can be lifted away from the rest of the phone.

With the circuit board removed, your phone should look like below.
The ribbon cable from the camera is circled below. Again, this has a
plug and socket type connection, so lever it up, away from the circuit
board.

The camera has now been removed. To remove the earpiece/speaker box
(the back plastic part at the top of the circuit board), first apply
some heat to the ringer, indicated by the arrow, using a hot air gun or
hair dryer. This will soften the adhesive tape which hold the ringer in
place. Then lever the ringer up using your screwdriver. Be careful not
to damage the two wires which connect the ringer to the circuit board.

Turn the circuit board over and push back the two clips circled
below. You can now lever the earpiece/speaker box away from the circuit
board.

The earpiece/speaker box is now free.

To remove the LCD screen, apply heat to the screen for about 60 seconds
to soften the adhesive gasket holding it in place. Then lift the screen
from the point indicated by the arrow below. Do not force the screen,
just keep applying heat until it is free.

With the LCD screen removed, your phone should look like below. The
power switch and volume switch are indicated below by the red arrows.
You can lever these out with your screwdriver. The ribbon cable from the
touch screen is indicated by the green arrow. This is stuck down with
adhesive tape and should be lifted up. The home button is indicated by
the white arrow. This can be simply lifted free from the front cover.

The power switch, volume switch and home button have now been removed
and the ribbon cable from the touch screen is no longer stuck down. To
remove the touch screen apply some heat from a hot air gun or hair dryer
and push it out from the back.

The touch screen has now been removed. Disassembly is now complete. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly. If you've found this disassembly guide useful, please support formymobile.co.uk and order the tools and parts you need from our site. We ship worldwide!
