Tools required for disassembly: Torx 5 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar
plectrum or credit card.
First remove your sim and memory card, then remove the four screws, circled below.

Next, peel the identification sticker away from the sim card reader,
as shown below.

Unclip the battery compartment using a thin plastic tool, such as an
old credit card.

With the battery compartment removed your phone should look like
below. The loud speaker, indicated by the arrow below, can be levered
free.

The loud speaker has now been removed.

Now lift away the volume button and power button, indicated by the
arrows below.

The volume and power buttons have now been removed. Now remove the
black sticky tape, indicated by the arrow below.

Circled below is a close up of two ribbon cables which now need to be
disconnected. Each ribbon has a zif connector. The white part is a latch
that opens and closes on a hinge. Carefully lift each one up, towards
the ribbon and the ribbon will be free. Refer to the next stage to see
each latch in the open position.

Below you can see the white latches in the open position.

Now lift the circuit board up and to the left and pull the ribbons in
the direction shown by the arrows. The circuit board will then be free.

The circuit board has now been removed. Now peel the long orange ribbon
cables, indicated by the arrows below, away from the back of the screen.
They're stuck down lightly with double sided tape.

To remove the LCD screen, apply heat around the back of the screen for
around 30 seconds (use a hot air gun or hair dryer) and then carefully
lever the screen from the point indicated below. Do not force the
screen, just keep applying heat if it's held firmly.

To remove the earpiece, lever it from from the point shown.

The earpiece has now been removed. Disassembly is now complete. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly. If you've found this disassembly guide useful, please support formymobile.co.uk and order the tools and parts you need from our site. We ship worldwide!
