LG GM205 LCD screen
Tools required for disassembly: Phillips screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar
plectrum or credit card.
Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Four screws
need to be removed, circled below.

There are two screws at the top of the phone which are covered by
rubber stoppers. Lever these out with your screwdriver and then remove
the two screws.

Now run something thin and flat, like the edge of a credit card, all
the way around the join of the front cover. This will release the front
cover.

With the front cover removed your phone should look like below.
Gently push back the white circled part and the circuit board will
become loose. Carefully lift it away from the body of the phone.

You should now have the circuit board removed, as shown below.

Slide your plastic tool under the LCD screen from the left side of
the screen. This will release the double sided tape that holds the
screen in place. The screen will still be connected by a ribbon cable
which run around the back of the screen and connects to the circuit
board on the other side.

Turn the circuit board over and your phone should look like below. A
ribbon connector (circled) needs to be disconnected. It attaches like a
plug and socket. Just lever this up to unplug.

You should now have the LCD screen removed. Reverse the whole procedure for
reassembly. If you've found this disassembly guide useful, please support formymobile.co.uk and order the tools and parts you need from our site. We ship worldwide!
