Now remove the piece of black sticky tape, indicated by the arrow below.  Sony Xperia J ST26i disassembly stage 7 Circled below is a zif connector which holds a ribbon cable in place. The black part is a latch that opens and closes on a hinge. Carefully lift the latch over, away from the ribbon, and the ribbon will be free. Below you can see the zif connector with the latch in the closed position. Refer to the next stage to see the latch in the open position. Sony Xperia J ST26i disassembly stage 8 Below you can see the latch in the open position. The ribbon cable can now be slid out. The coaxial cable is circled in white to the right of the image below. This has a plug and socket type connection, so simply lever the connector up, away from the circuit board. Then lever the circuit board free. Sony Xperia J ST26i disassembly stage 9 The ribbon cable and coaxial cable have been disconnected and the circuit board is now free. Next peel away the sticky rubber foam indicated by the arrow below and then carefully lift the switch for the volume and on/off keys away from the side of the phone. This switch is connected to the circuit board by a ribbon cable so be careful not to damage this.  Sony Xperia J ST26i disassembly stage 10 The switch for the volume and on/off button is now free from the side of the phone, revealing another zif connector, circled below. Remove the yellow sticky tape and disconnect the ribbon cable like with the previous zif connector. Now lift the circuit board over/towards you. Sony Xperia J ST26i disassembly stage 11 With the circuit board flipped over you have access to another zif connector, circled below. Disconnect the ribbon cable in the same way as the others. You should also be able to see the other end of the coaxial cable connected to the circuit board. Lever this up, away from the circuit board to disconnect it. The circuit board will then be free. Sony Xperia J ST26i disassembly stage 12 The circuit board is now free. Sony Xperia J ST26i disassembly stage 13 If you want to remove the camera, lever the plug and socket type connector away from the circuit board. Sony Xperia J ST26i disassembly stage 14 Peel the long ribbon cable away from the back of the screen, as shown below.
