Tools required for disassembly: Torx 5 screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar plectrum or credit card.

Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Then remove the five screws you can see, circled below. The screws circled in red are torx head screws and the one circled in blue is Phillips head screw. Make sure they go back in the right place. HTC Wildfire S disassembly stage 1 Next, slide something thin and flat like the edge of a credit card along the join of the battery compartment, as shown below. Do this all the way around the edge of the phone and this will release the battery compartment. HTC Wildfire S disassembly stage 2 With the battery compartment removed, your phone should look like below. The power and volume buttons will also come loose. Next remove the two screws circled in blue. Three ribbon cables, circled in red, need to be disconnected (see the next stage for more details). HTC Wildfire S disassembly stage 3 Circled below is a close up of two of the ribbon cables mentioned in the last stage. Each ribbon has a zif connector. The white part is a latch that opens and closes on a hinge. Carefully lift each one up, towards the ribbon and the ribbon will be free. Refer to the next stage to see each latch in the open position. HTC Wildfire S disassembly stage 4 Below you can see the white latches in the open position and the ribbons can now be slid out. HTC Wildfire S disassembly stage 5 Below you can see the ribbons having been disconnected. HTC Wildfire S disassembly stage 6 The third ribbon connects/disconnects in the same way as the last two and can be seen disconnected below.  HTC Wildfire S disassembly stage 7 You can now lift the circuit board away from the rest of the phone. The black ribbon, indicated by the arrow below, is stuck down lightly with double sided tape. Peel this away from the back of the LCD screen. HTC Wildfire S disassembly stage 8 Below you can see the ribbon cable once it has been peeled away from the back of the screen. Now carefully lever the LCD screen from the point indicated by the arrow below. HTC Wildfire S disassembly stage 9 With the LCD screen removed, your phone should look like below. If you need to replace the touch screen, heat it with a hot air gun or hair dryer for about 60 seconds. This will loosen the adhesive holding the touch screen in place and you'll be able to push it out of the front cover. HTC Wildfire S disassembly stage 10 Below you can see the touch screen, having been removed. Disassembly is now complete. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.
