Tools required for disassembly: Torx 5 screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar
plectrum or credit card.
- Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Then remove
the six screws you can see, circled below. The screws circled in red are
torx head screws and the two circled in white are Phillips head screws.
Make sure they go back in the right place.

- Next, slide something thin and flat like the edge of a credit card
under the join of the battery compartment, as
shown below. Do this all the way around the edge of the phone and this will release the battery compartment.

- With the battery compartment removed, your phone should look like
below. The antenna may also come loose, as shown below the battery
compartment. Next remove the two circled screws. A ribbon cable,
indicated by the arrow, needs to be disconnected. Remove the piece of
yellow sticky tape then see the next stage for more details.

- Circled below is a close up of the ribbon cable mentioned in the
last stage. This ribbon has a zif connector. The black part is a latch
that opens and closes on a hinge. Carefully lift it up, towards the
ribbon and the ribbon will be free. Refer to the next stage to see the
latch in the open position.

- Below you can see the connector in the open position and the ribbon
is now free.

- You now need to disconnect the two circled ribbon cables. Each attaches like a plug and socket and can be levered
up, away from
the circuit board. The next stage is to lift the circuit board away from
the rest of the phone, but when you do so, make sure the volume switch,
indicated by the arrow, comes away with the circuit board.

- With the circuit board removed, your phone should look like below.
The arrow shows the volume switch mentioned in the last stage of the
guide.

-
If you want to remove the trackpad, turn the circuit board over and
you'll see another ribbon cable and zif connector. To disconnect this,
first remove the yellow sticky tape. Just like with the last zif
connector, the black part is a latch that opens and closes on a hinge.
Carefully lift it up, towards the ribbon and the ribbon will be free.

-
You can now pull the trackpad away from the circuit board.

-
Now carefully peel back the ribbon cable indicated by the arrow. It's
simply stuck to the back of the LCD screen with double sided tape.

- Below you can see ribbon cable after it has been peeled away from
the back of the LCD screen.

-
Now use your plastic tool to free the LCD screen. Just slide it under
the very edge of the bottom of the screen.

-
You should now have the LCD screen removed.

- To remove the touch screen, first use a hot air gun or hairdryer to
heat the screen for around 60 seconds. This will loosen the adhesive
tape that holds the screen in place. After applying heat to the screen,
push it from the other side, raising it just enough to slide your
plastic tool under the edge, as shown below. Slide your plastic tool all
the way around the edge of the screen until it is free. Disassembly is
then complete. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.
