Tools required for disassembly: Phillips screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar
plectrum or credit card.
- Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Six screws
need to be removed, circled below.
- Now pry the battery compartment away from the phone, starting near
the top.
- With the battery compartment removed your phone should look like
below. Now carefully lever the circuit board (circled below) away from
the phone.
- With the circuit board removed your phone should look like below.
Note that a connector, circled below in red, was connected to the
circuit board you just removed. When you put the phone back together
make sure they click back together like a plug and socket. Now pry the
grey, plastic part away from the rest of the phone.
- With the grey part removed your phone should look like below. Again
a connector, circled in red, was connected to the part you just removed.
When you put the phone back together make sure they click back together
like a plug and socket. Three ribbon connectors (circled in white) need
to be disconnected. Each attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever
each one up to unplug. You can now lift the large circuit board away
from the rest of the phone. When you do so pay careful attention to the
volume key, circled in blue. Make sure you lever this out as you lift
the circuit board out.
- With the circuit board removed your phone should look like below.
- To remove the front cover heat it with a hair dryer. This will
release the adhesive holding it in place. You can then pry the front
cover away from the rest of the phone.

When you remove the front cover the camera (circled in red) will pop
out. It reattaches to the connector circled in white. The LCD screen is
held into the front cover with double sided tape around its edge. Heat
around the edge of the screen with a hair dryer to release the adhesive
then simply lift it away from the front cover.

You should now have the LCD screen removed. Reverse the whole procedure
for reassembly.
