Tools required for disassembly: Phillips screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar
plectrum or credit card.
- Remove your back cover, battery and sim. Six screws
need to be removed. The two at the bottom are covered by rubber stoppers
which can be levered out with your screwdriver.
- Run something like a credit card around the join of the battery
compartment to release it from the rest of the phone.
- With the battery compartment removed your phone should look like
below. The memory card door will also come away. Two wires (circled)
need to be disconnected. They attach like a plug and socket. Just lever
each one up to unplug. Also remove the two circled screws.
- Pull the circuit board away from the phone and you'll see it's
attached by a ribbon, which now needs detaching. It attaches like a plug
and socket and to detach it simply lever it away from the circuit board.
- With the circuit board removed your phone should look like below.
Now remove the six screws, circled.
- You can now remove another layer of the phone, as shown below. Six
screws need to be removed. The two at the top are covered by stickers
which can be lifted off with something thin and flat or just push them
off with your screwdriver.
- Run something like a credit card along the join of the front cover
in order to release it.

With the front cover removed your phone should look like below. Now
remove the three screws you can see and lift the roller ball part away.

With the roller ball removed your phone should look like below.

Lift the screen towards you and remove the piece of blue tape, circled
below. You now have access to a ribbon connector. Just flick the black
latch up and pull the screen away from the phone to release the ribbon.
- You should now have the LCD removed. Reverse the whole procedure for
reassembly.
