Tools required for disassembly: Phillips screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar
plectrum or credit card.
Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Remove the
four screws, circled below.

Run your plastic tool around the join of the battery compartment to
release it.

Your phone should now look like below. The circled connector needs
to be disconnected. Just flick the black latch up and pull the ribbon
out.

Now remove the circled screw and the one on the opposite side. Both
screws will be covered with red stickers.

Now move the slide down and remove the three circled screws.

Lift the circuit board to the side slightly to reveal a ribbon
attached to the underside. The connector attaches like a plug and
socket. Just lever it away from the circuit board to unplug.

Your phone should now look like below. Pull the slider down to
access four more screws (circled). Remove these. Now run your fingernail
or your plastic tool around the join of the front cover. This will
release the clips which hold it in place. The cover will still be
attached near the top of the phone so don't try and force it off before
reading the next stage of this guide.

The camera cover should now be loose. Remove the two screws you can see.
You can now remove the front cover.

With the front cover removed your phone should now look like below. The
navigation pad and the part that holds this in place will come away with
the cover, as pictured below.

Pull the screen away from the rest of the phone. The circled connectors
needs to be released. For each, flick the black latch up where the
ribbon enters and pull the ribbon out.

Your phone should now look like below (but without a dotted line
around the screen). You now need to separate the LCD and touch screen.
To do so first apply some heat with a hair dryer, which will loosen the adhesive holding the touch screen in place, then slide something flat and thin (the edge of a guitar
plectrum would be best) between the LCD and touch screen. Try to follow
the dotted line and try not to push your plastic tool too far under the
touch screen or you'll get a sticky residue on the underside of it.

You should now have the LCD screen and touch screen separated. Reverse the whole procedure for
reassembly. If you've found this disassembly guide useful, please support formymobile.co.uk and order the tools and parts you need from our site. We ship worldwide!
