If you require a new screen, phone cover and screwdrivers, they can be purchased
here:
http://www.formymobile.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=s5230lcd
Tools required: Phillips screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar
plectrum or credit card.
- Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Remove the
six screws you can see.

- Run something like a credit card around the join of the battery
compartment to release it from the rest of the phone.

- Your phone should now look like below. Another screw needs to be
removed, circled top left. A ribbon
needs to be disconnected, circled top right. This attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever
it up, away from the circuit board to unplug. The connector, circled
bottom right, can also be levered off. The arrow, top right, indicates the volume
buttons that are stuck to the side of the phone. Carefully peel them
away from the side of the phone (they're stuck down with double sided
tape). Do not try and detach them from the circuit board just release
them from the side of the phone. Do the same with the camera button and hold button, indicated by the arrow, bottom left of the photo.

- With the circuit board removed your phone should look like below.
You now need to remove the grey metal plate and black with the
identification sticker on (have a look at the picture in the next stage
to see which part the guide refers to). To remove this part push your
screwdriver into the circled areas. This will release the mains clips
holding it in place. Then run your credit card under the edge of the
grey part to release it completely.

- Your phone should now look like below. Note that the antenna has
come loose. This simply pushes back in place. Three more ribbons need to be
disconnected (circled). These are connected in a different manner to the
previous ones. The ribbons enters at one side and at the other side is a
black latch. Just flick the latch up and pull the ribbon out. Note that
the ribbon at the bottom has a piece of blue sticky tape on. Just peel
this off before disconnecting the ribbon.

- Now lever the screen up from the points shown.

- You should now have the LCD screen removed. Turn the screen over and
you'll see a ribbon stuck the back. Carefully peel this away from the
back of the screen. It's stuck down with double sided tape and you'll
need to stick this ribbon to the back of your new screen.

-
The job is now complete. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.
