Tools required: Torx 4 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar
plectrum or credit card.
- Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. There are a
number of screws in the back of the phone but you do not need to remove
these in order to change the touch screen and LCD screen.
- Open the slide and you'll see two circular stickers, circled below,
which cover two screws. Lift the stickers off with your screwdriver or
something sharp and then remove the screws. Now pry the front cover off.
- Once you have pried the front cover away you'll see that it is still
attached by a ribbon. Move on to the next stage of the guide to see how
to disconnect this.
- Below is a close up of the ribbon connecting the front cover and
touch screen to the rest of the phone. The connector for this ribbon
attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it up to unplug
- With the front cover removed your phone should look like below.
- The LCD screen is held in place with double sided tape. To release
it slide something like a credit card right under the screen. Do not
pull at the screen as it is delicate.
- Lift the screen away from the phone and you'll see that it is still
connected by a ribbon cable. Have a look at the next stage of the guide
for a closer view.

Below is a close up of the ribbon cable from the LCD screen. This is
connected in a different way to the last one. To release the ribbon,
flick the orange latch up, opposite to the side the ribbon enters its
socket, and it'll release. The simply pull the LCD screen away from the
rest of the phone.

You should now have the LCD screen removed. Reverse the whole procedure
for reassembly.
