Nokia N70 disassembly, screen replacement and repair

Tools required for disassembly: Torx 6 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a credit card or guitar plectrum.

First remove the battery cover, battery, sim and memory card. Nokia N70 disassembly stage 1 Run your plastic tool around the join of the front cover to unclip it. Nokia N70 disassembly stage 2 With the front cover removed your phone will now look like below. Nokia N70 disassembly stage 3 Turn your phone over and push your screwdriver in the gap, as shown below. Do the same on the right side too. This will release the camera surround. Nokia N70 disassembly stage 4 Your phone should now look like below. Nokia N70 disassembly stage 5 Turn the phone over and remove the six screws you can see. Nokia N70 disassembly stage 6 Lift the frame which holds the screen in place away from the rest of the phone slightly. You now have access to a ribbon connector (indicated by the arrow) that needs to be detached. The connector attaches like a plug and socket. Lift the connector away from the phone to unplug it. Nokia N70 disassembly stage 7 Your phone should now look like below. Four clips hold the LCD screen in place. Bend these back a little to release the screen. Nokia N70 disassembly stage 8 You should now have the LCD screen removed. Reverse the procedure for reassembly.
