With the back cover removed you have access to the battery. Remove
the battery by lifting from the point shown by the arrow below. Make sure you remove your sim and memory card at this stage. Now
remove the five circled screws.

Next, remove the other three screws. These are a different length to
the first five, so make sure they go back in the right place and they
don't get mixed up with the other screws.

Now use a plastic tool, such as a guitar plectrum or old credit
card, to lever the battery compartment free. Start near the bottom of
the phone then lever each side until the battery compartment unclips.
When you put the phone back together, make sure you align the battery
compartment at the bottom first, ensuring the USB socket fits into its
recess.

With the battery compartment removed, your phone should look like
below. If you need to replace the loud speaker, lever it free from the point indicated by the arrow below.

Now disconnect the ribbon cables circled below. Each attaches like a
plug and socket, so just lever each one up, away from the circuit board,
to unplug. You can now remove the circuit board. A couple of plastic
clips, indicated by the arrows, hold the circuit board in place, so
lever these back slightly and the circuit board will come free.

The circuit board is now free. If you want to remove the earpiece, lever
it from the point shown by the arrow below.

The earpiece is now free.
![Nokia Lumia 520 disassembly stage 9]()
Now remove the jack socket by using your screwdriver to lever it away
from the phone, as indicated by the arrow below. A ribbon cable is
connected to the bottom of the jack socket so carefully peel this away
as you remove the jack socket.
![Nokia Lumia 520 disassembly stage 10]()
The jack socket is now free.
![Nokia Lumia 520 disassembly stage 11]()
Now remove the touch screen by running your plastic tool all the way
along its join on each side.
![Nokia Lumia 520 disassembly stage 12]()
The touch screen is now free, as shown below.
![Nokia Lumia 520 disassembly stage 13]()
To remove the LCD screen, push your screwdriver into the gap indicated
by the arrow below. This will raise the LCD slightly on the other side
and allow you to slide your plastic tool under to release.
![Nokia Lumia 520 disassembly stage 14]()
With the LCD slightly raised, you can slide your plastic tool underneath
and release it. Do not bend or lever the LCD.
