Microsoft Lumia 435 disassembly, screen replacement and repair

Tools required for disassembly: Torx 6 screwdriver, Mobile phone opening tool, hot air gun or hair dryer

(If you are replacing a badly cracked touch screen digitizer (the glass), cover it in sticky tape before starting). Remove the back cover by pushing it in the direction of the arrow below. Microsoft Lumia 435 disassembly stage 1 With the back cover removed, your phone will look like below. Microsoft Lumia 435 disassembly stage 2 With the back cover removed, your phone will look like below. Remove the battery by lifting it from the point indicated below. Microsoft Lumia 435 disassembly stage 3 Now remove the four Torx 6 size screws, circled below. Microsoft Lumia 435 disassembly stage 4 To separate the battery compartment from the rest of the phone, turn the phone on its side and slightly lever back the circled clips. Do the same on both sides of the phone. Microsoft Lumia 435 disassembly stage 5 The battery compartment is now free. Microsoft Lumia 435 disassembly stage 6 If you want to remove/replace the loud speaker, turn the battery compartment over then simply lever the loud speaker from the point indicated below. Microsoft Lumia 435 disassembly stage 8 If you want to remove the antenna, push down the two circled clips and lift the antenna free from the other side. Microsoft Lumia 435 disassembly stage 9 The antenna is now free. Microsoft Lumia 435 disassembly stage 10 Two ribbon cables (connected to the touch screen digitizer and LCD) need to be disconnected. Each cable has a plug and socket type connection, so lever up, away from the circuit board. Microsoft Lumia 435 disassembly stage 11 The ribbon cables have now been disconnected. To remove the circuit board, gently lever back the two clips circled below then simply lift the circuit board free. Microsoft Lumia 435 disassembly stage 12 The circuit board is now free. If you want to remove/replace the earpiece, lever it free from the point indicated below. Microsoft Lumia 435 disassembly stage 13 The earpiece is now free. Remove the metal shield by levering from the points circled below. Microsoft Lumia 435 disassembly stage 14 The metal shield is now free. Microsoft Lumia 435 disassembly stage 15 To remove the LCD, push the top corners of the front cover back and the LCD will lift slightly, as shown below. Then carefully pull the LCD away. If the LCD does not come out, do not use force, use heat from a hot air gun or hair dryer to soften the adhesive tape which holds it in place then try again.  Microsoft Lumia 435 disassembly stage 16 The LCD is now free. Microsoft Lumia 435 disassembly stage 17 To separate the touch screen digitizer from the front cover, first apply heat to the front for around 60 seconds. Microsoft Lumia 435 disassembly stage 18 Now use your plastic tool to lever the touch screen digitizer free. Start from the point indicated by the arrow below. Microsoft Lumia 435 disassembly stage 19 The touch screen digitizer is now free. Disassembly is now complete. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.
