Tools required for disassembly: Phillips screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar
plectrum or credit card.
Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Eight screws
need to be removed, circled below.

Starting at the bottom of the phone, run something like a credit card around the join of the battery
compartment to release it from the rest of the phone. Try to avoid the
side buttons when doing this.

With the battery compartment removed your phone should look like
below.

To remove the antenna, turn the battery compartment over and lever
the antenna from the point indicated below.

With the antenna removed your phone should look like below. The
memory card reader and ringer, indicated by the arrow, can be pried free
with little force. Two ribbon connectors (circled) need to be
disconnected. Each attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever each one
up to unplug.

Below is a close up of the two ribbons mentioned in the previous
stage, now disconnected. The microphone is circled below. Carefully
lever this up, away from the housing, making sure not to damage the
connection to the circuit board.

With the memory card reader and ringer removed your phone should
look like below. Note the socket circled in white. This connects to the
other side of the memory card reader and ringer so remember to push this
into place when you put the phone back together. Another ribbon
connector (circled in red) needs to be disconnected. Again, it attaches
like a plug and socket. Just lever this up to unplug.

Push the housing in the direction of the arrow. This will allow you to
lift the circuit board slightly, as shown below. Once you have the
circuit board in this position, carefully pull it in the direction shown
by the arrow.

With the circuit board removed your phone should look like below. The
side buttons may also come loose at this point, as shown below. To
disconnect the camera, lever up the plug and socket type connector,
circled below in red, and then lever the camera free (it will be held in
place with a little double sided tape on the bottom).

To remove the LCD screen, heat around the edge of the back of the screen
for about 30 seconds using a hot air gun or hair dryer and then pull the
housing in the direction shown by the arrows. This should allow you to
lift the screen out.

With the LCD screen removed, your phone should look like below.

To remove the touch screen, continue following the guide. First pull the
black part, indicated by the arrows, towards you. A little force is
required.

Your phone should now look like below. They keypad will come loose, as
shown below.

Now heat around the edge of the touch screen for about 60 seconds, then
run something thin and flat, like the edge of a guitar plectrum or
credit card, all the way around the join of the touch screen.

The touch screen will still be connected by a ribbon so don't try and
removed it completely just yet. First peel away the electronic part of
the keypad, as shown below.

Your phone should now look like below.

You can now lift the touch screen away from the front cover, as shown
below. Reverse
the whole procedure for reassembly. If you've found this disassembly guide useful, please support formymobile.co.uk and order the tools and parts you need from our site. We ship worldwide!
