Tools required for disassembly: Phillips screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar
plectrum or credit card.
Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Remove the five
screws you can see.

Slide something like a credit card inbetween the join of the housing and
battery compartment, like below. This will release the battery
compartment slightly, allowing you to pry it free from the rest of the
phone.

With the battery compartment removed, your phone should look like
below. The volume and camera buttons will probably also come loose.
They;ll simply slot back in place when you reassemble the phone.
Carefully lift the circuit board over the four circled lugs and then the
circuit board over, from left to right. A ribbon cable will still be
connected to the circuit board so be careful.

The circled connector needs to be disconnected. It attaches like a
plug and socket. Just lever it away from the circuit board to unplug.

You can now lift the circuit board away from the rest of the phone,
as shown below. Remove the four screws you can see and you'll be able to
lift another layer of the housing away.

Your phone should now look like below. Six screws need to be
removed. Three of these screws will be covered with small blue stickers.
Just push them off with your screwdriver.

Now slide your plastic tool all the way around the join of the front
cover in order to release it.

Your phone should now look like below. Two connectors need to be
disconnected. Again, these attach like a plug and socket. Just lever
each one up to unplug. Now remove the small pieces of green sticky tape
you can see near the bottom of the phone.

Another ribbon needs to be disconnected. This is a zif connector and is
shown below in the closed position. Release this by flicking the black
latch in the direction shown by the arrow.

Below you can see the zif connector in the open position.

Now peel the long orange ribbon away from the back of the LCD. Next,
lever the LCD screen slightly from the point indicated by the arrow. You
can do the same on the other side as well. Just lever the screen up
enough to slide your plastic tool underneath. This will release it.

You should now have the LCD screen removed. The keypad membrane, which
was connected to the LCD, will also come loose, as shown below. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly. If you've found this disassembly guide useful, please support formymobile.co.uk and order the tools and parts you need from our site. We ship worldwide!
