Sony Ericsson K700i
disassembly
If you require a new screen, phone cover and screwdrivers, they can be purchased
here:
http://www.formymobile.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=k700ilcd
Tools required: plastic shim such as a bic pen lid, small flat head
screwdriver (or something which can be used as a lever) and T6 screwdriver
- Remove the battery cover, battery and
sim card. Use something like a pen lid to push to clips (circled) out of
the chassis to allow removal of the front cover.

- Below is how the phone will look once
you have removed the front cover. Now unscrew the 4 screws, circled
below.

- Next, remove metal assembly which
surrounds the screen. To do so, lever the assembly away from the chassis
with something like a flat head screwdriver.

- Your phone should now look like the
image below. The screen attaches to the circuit board via a ribbon
(circled). To remove the screen, slowly and carefully pull the ribbon
away from the phone. As you pull the ribbon away, note how it attaches
to the circuit board. This is important as it'll help you re-attach the
new screen's ribbon

- If you are replacing the housing, note
the image below. We have gone back a few stages here to remove the
aerial cover at the top back of the phone (it's not necessary to remove
this part if you are changing the screen only). Again, this is held in
place by clips, circled below. Push the clips out and you can remove the
aerial cover.

- Reverse the procedure for disassembly and it's finished.
