Tools required for disassembly: Phillips screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar
plectrum or credit card.
First remove your back cover, stylus pen, battery, sim and memory
card. Next remove the five screws you can see, circled below.

Now run something thin and flat, like the edge of a credit card,
along the join of the right side of battery compartment, in order to
release this part.

With the battery compartment removed, your phone should look like
below. Circled below are a number of ribbon cables. Each of these
attaches like a plug and socket, so just lever each one up, away from
the circuit board, to unplug. The camera, indicated by the arrow, is
held in place with sticky tape on the bottom. Carefully lever this up.
You can now lift the circuit board free. A number of black clips around
the edge of the circuit board hold it in place so carefully pry these
back a little to fee the circuit board.

With the circuit board removed, your phone should look like below.
The side buttons will also be loose at this point. These simply slot
back into place along the side of the phone. Now remove the two screws
you can see, circled below. Also circled below is another ribbon cable. Again this attaches like a plug and socket, so just lever it up to unplug.

With the two screws removed in the previous stage you can lever the
earpiece cover free, as shown below. On the left of the phone are
switches for the volume, screen lock and camera buttons, indicated by
the arrows. These are permanently connected to the circuit board but are
stuck to the side of the housing with double sided tape. Carefully peel
them away from the side of the housing, leaving them connected to the
circuit board. Once you've done that, peel the long orange ribbon cable
away from the back of the LCD screen. At the bottom of the cable is the
keypad, held in place by black clips around its edge. Carefully pry
these back a little to free the keypad.

With the ribbon cable removed, your phone should look like below. To
remove the LCD screen, pull each side of the housing in the direction
shown by the arrows. You can then lift free the LCD screen.

Below you can see the LCD screen, having been separated from the
front of the phone. The LCD screen is still in its frame so continue to
follow the guide for removal.

The buttons will now be loose in the front cover and can be removed, as
shown below. The earpiece is connected by a ribbon cable, circled below.
Again, this attaches like a plug and socket, so just lever it up to
unplug, then carefully lift the earpiece from the back of the front
cover.

With the earpiece removed, your phone should look like below.

To separate the LCD screen and frame, slide something like a credit card
under the left side of the screen. Do not lever or apply force to the
screen or it will be damaged.

With the LCD screen removed, your phone should look
like below. Disassembly is now complete. Reverse the whole procedure for
reassembly. If you've found this disassembly guide useful, please support formymobile.co.uk and order the tools and parts you need from our site. We ship worldwide!
