  • Run something like a credit card around the join of the battery compartment to release it from the rest of the phone.

  • With the battery compartment removed your phone should look like below. The volume and camera buttons will also come away. Four ribbon connectors (circled) need to be disconnected. Those circled in red have a plug and socket type connection. Just lever each one up to unplug. The ribbon circled in blue has a zif connector. Lift the black latch up and the ribbon will be loose and can slide out of its socket. The two arrows indicate the micro switches for the volume and camera buttons. These are held to the housing with double sided tape. Carefully peel them away from the side of the phone. They will still be attached to the circuit board at the other end so be careful not to damage this connection.
