Tools required: Torx 6 screwdriver, mobile phone opening tool, plastic tool such as an old credit card.
  • Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Four screws need to be removed. The top left one is covered by a warranty sticker. Just push through it with your screwdriver.

  • The BlackBerry logo bezel will now be loose and can be removed, as shown below.

  • From the point indicated below, push your opening tool in the direction shown by the arrow. Do this on both sides.

  • You should now have revealed two more screws. Remove these screws and the battery compartment will be loose and can be removed.

  • With the battery compartment removed your phone should look like below. A few clips, such as those circled, hold the front cover in place. Release these clips and remove the front cover.

  • With the front cover removed your phone should look like below. A ribbon connector needs to be detached. It attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it up to unplug.

  • Carefully lift the circuit board up and you'll see some more ribbon connectors. The one circled on the left needs to be detached, just like in the last stage.

  • Now turn your phone over and slide something like a credit card all the way under the screen. The screen is held in place lightly by double sided tape which will release when you slide your credit card under it.

  • You should now have the LCD screen removed. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.
