Tools required for disassembly: Phillips screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar
plectrum or credit card.
Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card then remove the
four screws you can see, circled below.

Next run something like the edge of a credit card all the way around
the join of the camera surround in order to release it.

With the camera surround removed, your phone should look like below.
Now remove the two screws you have access to, circled below.

Now run your plastic tool around the join of the front and back
covers in order to separate them. Avoid the side buttons when you do
this.

With the battery compartment removed, your phone should look like below.
Three ribbon cables need disconnecting, circled below in green. Each
connector attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever each one up to
unplug. Also remove the two screws, circled in white. The switch for the
volume button, indicated by the arrow, is stuck to the side of the phone
with double sided tape. Carefully peel this away from the side of the
phone being careful not to damage the connection to the circuit board.
The ribbon cable circled in red is slightly different to the other.
Refer to the next stage for more details.

The ribbon cable from the camera, circled below, connects in a
different way to previous ribbon cables. This is known as a zif
connector. The pink/brown part is a latch that opens and closes on a
hinge. Carefully lift it up, away from the ribbon and the ribbon will be
free. Refer to the next stage to see the latch in the open position.

Below you can see the connector in the open position and the ribbon
has been slid out.

Below you can see the disconnected ribbons.

Lift the circuit board over and you'll see another zif connector.

Circled below is a close up of the zif connector. Again it has a
pink/brown latch. Open the latch to release the ribbon and then remove
the circuit board.

With the circuit board removed, your phone should look like below.
Remove the two screws which hold the antenna in place, circled near the
bottom of the phone.

Lift the antenna over to reveal another connector. This attaches like a
plug and socket. Disconnect this from the antenna.

With the antenna removed your phone should look like below. You can also
remove the camera at this stage. It simply lifts out of its recess.

Carefully pry the front cover away.

With the front cover removed, your phone should look like below.

To remove the LCD screen, heat the screen with a hot air gun or hair
dryer for around 30 seconds. This loosens the adhesive that holds the
screen in place. Then gently push the back of the screen from the point
indicated by the arrow below. The screen will then be raised enough for
you to lift it away with your fingers.

You should now carefully lift the LCD screen away from the phone.

With the LCD screen removed, your phone should look like below.

To remove the electronic part of the keypad, turn the phone over and
carefully peel the orange ribbon away from the grey, metal plate.

Next, apply some heat for about 30 seconds and carefully peel the
electronic part of the keypad away from the metal plate. The front view
camera, circled below, can also be lifted away from the metal plate at
this point. It should come away with little force. Disassembly is now complete. Reverse the whole procedure
for reassembly. If you've found this disassembly guide useful, please support formymobile.co.uk and order the tools and parts you need from our site. We ship worldwide!
