Tools required for disassembly: Phillips screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar
plectrum or credit card.
- First remove your back cover, battery, sim, stylus pen and memory card.
Then remove the five screws, circled below.
- Run something thin and flat that won't scratch the phone, like a
guitar plectrum or credit card, around the join of the battery
compartment, like below, in order to free this part.
- Lever the circuit board from the point indicated below and then lift
it up and over.
- With the circuit board lifted up and over you'll have access to a
ribbon cable. This attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever it away
from the circuit board to unplug. The circuit board will now be free.
- You can remove the antenna by releasing the
clips indicated below. If you want to remove the camera, you should
remove the metal plate with the identification sticker on. It will come
away with little force.
- With the antenna and metal plate removed your phone should look like
below. The ribbon cable for the camera is circled below.
- Below is a close up of the ribbon cable and socket for the camera.
This ribbon connects in a different way to the last. This is known as a
zif connector. The orange/brown part is a latch that opens and closes on
a hinge. Carefully lift it up, away from the ribbon and the ribbon will
be free. Refer to the next stage to see the latch in the open position.

Below you can see the connector in the open position and the ribbon is
now free. Now you can simply lever the camera free.

With the camera removed your phone should look like below.

To remove the LCD screen, heat the screen with a hot air gun or hair
dryer for around 30 seconds. This loosens the adhesive that holds the
screen in place. Then run your tool under the very edge of the screen
and it will come free.
- You should now have the LCD screen removed. Reverse the whole procedure
for reassembly.
