Tools required for disassembly: Phillips screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar
plectrum or credit card.
- Remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Six screws
need to be removed, circled below.

- Run something like a credit card around the join of the battery
compartment to pry it away from the phone.

- With the battery compartment removed your phone should look like
below. A screw, circled in white, needs to be removed. A ribbon connector, circled
in red,
needs to be disconnected. It attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever
this up to unplug. Next, remove the music button, indicated by the
arrow. The actual switch for the music button is held to the side of the
phone with double sided tape. Carefully free the switch. You now need to
remove the circuit board for the sim and memory card. To do so, pull it
away from the phone. It's held in place with a plug and socket type
connector so a little force is required. When you put the phone back
together make sure you give the circuit board a firm push so that it
fits back into the socket.

- With the circuit board for the sim and memory card removed your phone should look like below.
Three more ribbon connectors need to be detached (circled). Again, each attaches like a plug and socket. Just
lever each one away from the circuit board to unplug. You can then lift
the second circuit board away from the phone. The camera button will
probably come loose at this point (pictured to the left of the phone).

- With the second circuit board removed your phone should look like
below. The camera, circled in red can now be removed. It's held in place
with double sided tape and can simply be lifted away from the phone.
Lever the speaker out from the point indicated.

- With the camera and speaker removed your phone should look like below.
The next stage is to remove the screen. The first thing to do is apply
some heat all around the front of the screen using a hot air gun or hair
dryer. This will loosen the adhesive holding the screen in place. Do
this for about a minute. Also apply some heat where the arrow indicates
and then push your finger in that gap. This will raise the screen
slightly on the other side.

- With the screen raised slightly you should be able to slide
something thin and flat, like a credit card, all the way around the join
of the screen and release it. Be careful along the left side of the
screen as the ribbon cable from the screen is there and could be
damaged.

-
You should now have the screen removed. The touch screen and the LCD are
bonded together and cannot be separated. Reverse the whole procedure for
reassembly.
