  • Pry away the battery compartment around the join with the main body of the phone and it should release without much force. The volume and phone lock buttons may also come loose, as shown below. Now unclip the antenna from the points circled below in red.

  • With the antenna removed your phone should look like below. A ribbon connector (circled in white) needs to be disconnected. It attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever this up to unplug. Next, remove the two screws circled in red. You can now remove the circuit board. It's held in place by a number of clips around it's edge, like the one circled in blue. Pry these away from the circuit board and it'll release.

  • Your phone should now look like below.

Samsung Genio Slide B5310 disassembly stage 4

  • If you want to remove the speaker/camera unit then continue with this stage, otherwise skip to the next stage. Turn the circuit board over and remove the screw circled in red. Remove the blue sticky tape you can see and you'll have access to another ribbon connector (circled in blue). This type of connector is called a zif connector. The pink/brown part is a latch which opens and closes on a hinge. Flick the latch up, away from the ribbon, and then pull the speaker/camera unit away from the circuit board from the other side.

  • With the speaker/camera unit removed your phone should look like below.

Samsung Genio Slide B5310 disassembly stage 6

  • Now move the slider across and remove the six screws you can see, circled below. The flex ribbon cable, indicated by the arrow, is stuck down with double sided tape. Gently peel this away from the slider.

  • You can now remove the slider, as shown below. Now remove the four screws, circled in red. The screw circled top left is covered by a sticker which can be pushed off with your screwdriver.

Samsung Genio Slide B5310 disassembly stage 8

  • Now use something thin and flat, like the edge of a credit card, to lever the red part up. Do this all the way around the edge of the phone.

Samsung Genio Slide B5310 disassembly stage 9

  • You can now remove the red part, as shown below, carefully sliding the flex ribbon cable through the gap as you do so. Another two ribbons need to be disconnected on. Again, these are zif connectors so flick each latch up to release the ribbons.

Samsung Genio Slide B5310 disassembly stage 10

  • Below you can see the zif connectors, now open. Now heat the edge of the back of the screen with a hot air gun or hair dryer. Then lever the screen up slightly from the point circled below and slide something like a credit card under and all the way around the edge of the screen to release the adhesive holding it in place.
