BlackBerry Torch 9800 disassembly stage 5 With the battery compartment removed your phone should look like below. Three ribbon connectors (circled) need to be disconnected. Each attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever them up, away from the circuit board, to unplug. BlackBerry Torch 9800 disassembly stage 6 Next lift the circuit board up and you'll see a wire connected to the circuit board (circled). Again this attaches like a plug and socket so lever it away from the circuit board. The circuit board should now be loose. BlackBerry Torch 9800 disassembly stage 7 With the circuit board removed your phone should look like below. BlackBerry Torch 9800 disassembly stage 8 Next remove the identification sticker to reveal six more screws. Remove these screws. BlackBerry Torch 9800 disassembly stage 9 You should now be able to separate the phone into two parts, like below. Remove the four screws you can see. Again, each attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever them up to unplug. Then slide your plastic tool under the very edge of the touch screen, in the direction shown by the dotted line. BlackBerry Torch 9800 disassembly stage 12 Now move the touch screen to one side to access another screw. Do the same on the opposite side. BlackBerry Torch 9800 disassembly stage 13 The slide part may now be free from the screen. If not use your plastic tool to lever it away. BlackBerry Torch 9800 disassembly stage 14 The slide part and screen should now be separated, as shown below. BlackBerry Torch 9800 disassembly stage 15 To remove the trackpad open the metal door, circled below, then simply pull the pull the trackpad and the ribbon will slide out.
