Tools required for disassembly: Torx 6 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar
plectrum or credit card.
- First remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card. Two screws
need to be removed, circled below in red.

- Now pry the bezel, at the bottom of the phone, away (pull down from
the top edge) to reveal two more screws, circled below in red. Remove
these screws. Then pry the front cover away from the point shown by the
arrow.

- With the front cover removed your phone should look like below. The
black part at the bottom of the photo may also come away. This slides in
the back of the front cover. The keyboard will now be loose and can also
be removed.

- Now carefully lift the lens from the point indicated by the arrow.
Do the same from the other side. The lens is held in place with double
sided tape and will release with a little more ease if you first heat
the area with a hot air gun or hair dryer.

- You should now have the lens released, as shown below. The back of
the lens will be sticky so place it face side down so it doesn't stick
to anything and so it will be sticky enough to hold in place when you
put the phone back together.

- Now remove the four screws you can see, circled below.

- You can now lift the main body of the phone away from the housing,
as shown below.

-
Your phone should now look like below.

-
A ribbon connector (circled top left) needs to be disconnected. It
attaches like a plug and socket. Just lever this up to unplug. Then pull
back the metal clips (circled) on both sides of the phone to release the
screen.

-
You can now lift the screen and assembly away from the circuit board, as
shown below. If you also want to replace the trackpad then continue reading. If you only want to replace the LCD screen, you don't
need to follow the guide any further. Reverse the whole procedure for
reassembly.

- Next lift the keyboard frame away from the circuit board. It will
lift away without force.

-
Now turn the circuit board over and peel back the identification
sticker, as shown below. A clear plastic cover, indicated by the arrow below, needs to be
removed to access the socket which the trackpad connects to. This
plastic cover simply lifts away from the circuit board.

-
Below you can see the plastic cover, having been removed.

-
Below you can see the socket which the ribbon from the trackpad enters.
The metal part opens and closes on a hinge. Below it is shown in the
open position. It closes by pushing it in the direction shown by the
arrows. To remove the trackpad make sure the metal part is in the open
position then simply pull the trackpad from the other side.

-
The trackpad is now removed. Reverse the whole procedure for
reassembly.
